2013 Seven Mile Bridge Run 02

Contestants in the Seven Mile Bridge Run near Marathon, Fla., approach the span's highest point Saturday, April 5, 2014. The annual event attracted 1,500 runners who ran over the longest of 42 bridges over water that help comprise the Florida Keys Overseas Highway. More than 25 years ago, Williams was instrumental in assisting Ellis' father, Gary, with initiating a series of Redbone light tackle fishing tournaments to raise funds for cystic fibrosis treatment and research. The original Redbone tournament marks its silver anniversary this weekend and the series has raised some $18 million for the cause. Nicole Ellis, now 28, was diagnosed with the disease at birth.
