Sugarloaf Showdown to Target Three Catch-and-Release Species in Lower Keys

Angling teams can vie for victory by targeting bonefish, permit and barracuda while benefiting the charter fishing community during the annual Sugarloaf Showdown. Presented by the Lower Keys Guides Association, the catch-and-release challenge is scheduled Thursday through Saturday, Oct. 31 through Nov. 2.

‘Kids Free Florida Keys’ Available for Families Through Oct. 13

Through Oct. 13, visiting families can explore Florida Keys attractions, tours, watersports and other offerings with a value-added program that provides free admission for children age 12 or younger. Called Kids Free Florida Keys, the program was created by the Key West Attractions Association.

Connect & Protect: Be a Citizen Scientist in the Florida Keys

Increased efforts in volunteerism, often called “voluntourism,” contribute to the self-sufficiency and sustainability of tourist destinations like the Florida Keys, helping make the world a better place through environmental education.
