What’s New in the Florida Keys & Key West for Fall 2017

Recovery continues in the Florida Keys & Key West after Hurricane Irma’s Sept. 10 passage through the 125-mile-long island chain. Despite the storm, the Florida Keys’ resilience is demonstrated by the number of new and enhanced lodging facilities, attractions and other offerings opening or planned. Here are some highlights of what’s new in the Keys.

Frank Delucas of Plantation, Florida, was named grand champion among the dozen elite anglers who competed at the Islamorada All-Tackle Bonefish & Permit Championship that ended Oct. 11.

Florida Keys Gold Cup Sailfish Championship Kicks Off Nov. 30 with Islamorada Sailfish Tournament

For over 50 years, the Islamorada Sailfish Tournament has marked the start of the renowned triple-crown Florida Keys Gold Cup Sailfish Championship series. This year’s event is to challenge anglers Thursday through Sunday, Nov. 30 through Dec. 3.
